Main Stage

NEW! - We will have TWO Main Stage performance spaces this year! We will have the Texas Stage and the Grapevine Stage. There are no differences between the two, just different spaces! This gives our schools more opportunity to perform on Main Stage. Adjudication process is the same for both!
Shows selected will be announced October 9th!
Main Stage Information
1. These shows will perform on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. You will perform multiple times (based on scheduling)
2. Shows will have two (2) hours to set up show. Your show cannot exceed 2 hours and 30 minutes which includes a 15 min intermission. The show does not need to use the whole 2 hours and 30 minutes to be selected. Strike will be one (1) hour. (A more detailed schedule will be given if selected).
3. Basic lighting and sound will be provided.
4. You may apply for Main Stage via Cvent and the processes below. These shows are eligible to be adjudicated if you would like.
5. If you would like to be adjudicated for Nationals Main Stage, please register for that in Cvent. You will have to choose International Thespian Festival Main Stage Adjudication Fee of $1100. This fee will be split equally between the shows asking to be adjudicated for Nationals. Your account will be updated and credited once Main Stage announcements are finalized. (For Example: 1 show screened- $1,100; 2 shows screened- $550 per school; 3 shows screened- $350 per school.)
6. Troupes MUST:
• Bring their own set pieces, props, traveling mic sound system (if needed), and additional lighting (if needed).
• Bring your own marketing materials, programs for 2000, and a house crew.
• The fee is $100 and must be paid in Cvent.

4. DVD Information is below:
- The show must be shot from a static, single camera and must be on a continuous loop (no editing to the submitted DVD).
- Make the audio and the visual recording as clear as possible. If the performance is recorded with a live audience, make sure that audience sounds do not disturb the recording of the dialogue.
- Possibly place the audio pickup microphone close to the actors, or use a highly directional microphone or perhaps even use individual microphones on the speaking actors.
- It is permissible to pan the camera side to side and to zoom in or out in order to better frame intimate or full stage scenes.
- Ideally the director might be the best camera operator because the director can best anticipate entrances and exits of characters and know where the focus should be on key scenes.
