Distinguished Educator Program

Picture
The Distinguished Educator Program allows teachers to “Design Your Destiny to Distinction” through theatre knowledge, creativity, and innovation to earn points, unlock achievements, and reach Distinguished Educator distinction.
This program transforms professional growth into an interactive game board, where educators collect points for attending workshops, delivering lessons, and applying best practices.

Every workshop you attend, every innovative lesson you pilot, and every collaboration you forge is a deliberate movement toward your ultimate destiny. You are not just a participant; you are the architect of the experience.

The timeline for this program is January to December. Each monthly challenge will be posted in Texas Thespians Monthly. Participants will also be featured each month, similar to the Teacher of the Month feature. You will receive a letter to your principal and a digital badge for your email signature, indicating that you are part of the Distinguished Educator Cohort. Upon your designation, we will also include a press release for you to submit to your district, providing you with further recognition for your dedication and professional growth.

For a long time, professional development has felt like a script someone else wrote for you. You show up, you read the lines, you check the box, and you wait for the scene to end. But we know that’s not how great art — or great teaching — happens. From this point on, we are tearing up the old script.
Through this game, you will:
  • Grow in your profession
  • Showcase your lifelong learning in practice
  • Use what you’re already doing in your classroom and productions
  • Build evidence for T-TESS and Teacher Incentive Allotment
  • Gain recognition as a Distinguished Educator
  • Have fun while doing it!
The Artist's Ledger is the document that will record all of your progress towards becoming a Distinguished Educator. Once you have decided to join the cohort, you will have opportunities to complete various challenges. After reaching your goal, you will be designated as a Distinguished Educator!
