It is the time of the year that many students start thinking about how they are going to spend their summer and how much theatre they can get in with friends. We want to remind you that there are lots of summer programs held all over the state and some that you will find around the US. Take the time and research! Many of our universities and colleges host summer programming that features students working on productions both as actors and also in tech.
You can also look at community theatres who have summer programs and shows. If you can, sign up to work the shows and also volunteer to help clean the prop and costume closets! Not only do you get service hours, help them out you also get future information for you to take the information back to your school. Props are always a swap shop area and knowledge is power! READ, Read, read over the summer! Be looking for those monologues and audition songs! Serve as an usher for the local theatre and get in to see shows free and build up your binder of material. You got this! Start looking at how you will fill up your summer and build your theatre resume! We look forward to seeing you at one of our Leadership Days too!
