Virtual Thespys and College Auditions 2021 - 2022

Closes January 10th, 2022

Thespys

We are offering an additional opportunity for students to qualify for Nationals and receive feedback.

This opportunity is open to High School and Junior High/Middle School Thespians. 


Thespy’s (IE) Competitions
$15 for Thespy’s 
$100 opt out fee, if you don’t want to judge.
Judging completed by February 1st, 2022​

​Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Can high school students enter Thespys/Auditions that didn't attend State Festival?  
Yes, anyone can enter. 

​2. Can students enter multiple Thespys events?  Yes, students can enter multiple events. 

3. Can students enter two entries in the same category?  No, student are only allowed one entry per category. 

4. Can students that qualified at Festival enter additional events?  Absolutely. 

5. Do Troupe Directors need to register students?  Yes, students can not register themselves, Directors need to register all students from their campus. 

6. Can students that attended State Festival re-submit their entry into virtual? Yes, absolutely. 

7. What's the deadline for Payment? Monday, January 31st, 2022

College Auditions

.We are offering an additional opportunity for students to audition for Colleges and Universities for the Spring 2022

Step 1
Register in Swoogo by clicking the link below. Once you register, you will be sent the link to upload your audition material. 


Step 2 
Select your Audition area of interest - You may only select 1 audition type for submission: 
Performance, Technical, or Educator.

Step 3
Prepare your audition material based off of your audition type and review prior to submission:


Performance - Combined 2 Minute Upload MAX! - URL or Video Format accepted
  • Acting - 2 contrasting monologues - not to exceed 2 min.
  • Musical - 1 monologue and 1 musical number - not to exceed 2 min. Accompaniment cannot contain vocals. 

Technical  - URL or Video Format accepted 
State your area of Technical Interest.
1 minute video highlighting two of your best technical works.
Portfolio submission highlighting 3 of your best works. (See PDF Example).


Educator - URL or Video Format accepted 
90 sec video Introducing yourself and tell us:
Who or What inspired you to become a teacher and why do you want to pursue education?
15 slide presentation of your high school work (See PDF Example).

Step 4
Submit your items by January 10th, at midnight.  LATE entries will NOT be accepted. 


Step 5

Sit back and wait for the plethora of call backs! College Adjudication will begin January 10th and run through the Spring.
