Need a little help to getting to a Texas Thespians Event?

Apply for a Grant!

Texas Thespians offers grants for first-time attending Thespian Troupes, Individual Thespians, or Thespian Teachers.

​Each event has its own grant awarded on the basis of merit and need.

Please complete this form to the best of your ability.

​State Festival Grants
Due October 1, 2022

Junior Festival Grants
​Due October 1, 2022

Teacher Conference Grants
Due October 1, 2022
Eligibility - Send a MS/HS Troupe
  • The application must be submitted by a Thespian Troupe Director or Future Thespian Director.
  • The applying troupe must have never previously attended the Texas Thespian event.
  • The applying troupe will receive a one-time grant to cover the basic registration fees for troupe members.
  • The total grant will cover only registration fees and hotel rooms up to and will not exceed $3,000.
  • Registration fees do NOT include scholarship applications or competition fees.
  • State Festival Grants include funding for housing.
  • Junior Grants do not include housing.
  • This grant’s adjudication committee will make their selections and recipients will be notified of their grant award.

​Eligibility - Send a Thespian/Teacher
  • The application must be submitted by a Thespian Troupe Director or Future Thespian Director.
  • The applying thespian/teacher will receive a one-time grant to cover the basic registration fee only. 
  • Registration fees do NOT include scholarship applications or competition fees.​
  • This grant’s adjudication committee will make their selections and recipients will be notified of their grant award.
​​Grant Criteria- Send a MS/HS Troupe
  • The troupe applying has never attended a Texas Thespian Event in the past.
  • The troupe applying must be able to demonstrate financial barriers.
  • Letter of support from your administrator to participate in Texas Thespians events.
​Application Requirements
  • A list of the inducted Thespians being brought to the Thespian event if selected.
  • A count of total adults (designate as Troupe Director, Assistant Director, or Chaperone)
  • A letter of recommendation from an administrator (principal, school board member, or department head) supporting the financial barriers experienced by the troupe/individual applying.
Grant Criteria- Send a Thespian/Teacher
  • The thespian/teacher applying must be able to demonstrate financial barriers.
  • Letter of support from your administrator to participate in Texas Thespians events.
