Texas Thespians Hall of Fame

Texas Thespians Hall of Fame has been established to honor those adults who have given 20 or more years of service by dedicating themselves to promoting Texas educational theatre.

Members of the Hall of Fame are chosen for their dedication to theatre performance in Texas and to the aims and ideals of the Educational Theatre Association, as well as their contributions to continued standards of excellence in Texas theatre. 
 
Awards are also given to Theater Educators with 1-20 years service and to Administrators who are supportive of Theater Education in their districts. Awards are presented at the Texas Thespians Educator Conference and Administrator Day.

2024 Hall of Fame ​Award Winners!

Hall of Fame ~ Melissa Eyles

Melissa Eyles has served as the Theatre Director at Port Neches Groves High School since 2008.  Ms. Eyles holds a BA in English and an MA in School Counseling, as well as certifications in School Leadership and Counseling at all levels.  She also directs several full scale productions annually, UIL One Act Play, sponsors UIL Poetry and Prose, and Thespian Troupe 5243. Mrs. Eyles served as the Adult Advisor to the Student Thespian Officers for Texas Thespians from 2010-2018.

Melissa pours her heart into her students, her community, and her artistry, resulting in former students becoming theatre educators! Her devotion to the betterment of her students and the outreach to her community is awe-inspiring.

Hall of Fame ~ Kendra Willeby

Kendra Willeby has spent the last twenty years serving students in Waco and Houston. She is the proud director of Troupe 7961 at Foster High School. She has served on the Texas Thespians Board since 2016 and is the National Competition Chair and chair of the EdTA Thespy committee.

Kendra holds a BA degree in Journalism from Sam Houston State and a Masters in Theater from the University of Houston. 
Her goal as an educator is to create a world full of competitive, high quality theatre teachers who have a love for students and the art that we make.
