Hey Texas Thespians! I bet you're wondering what to do with all of those ribbons you received? Well here are a few ideas for you to take into consideration!
  • Distribution
    • When passing out ribbons it can be hard to decide who gets what. To help you decide, here are a few recommendations from us to you. :)
      • Rewards
        • If your troupe participates in Trick or Treat So Kids Can Eat (TOTS EAT), the student who brings the most cans gets to pick out their ribbons first! Use ribbons for those who bring the next highest amount and so forth.
        • Reward the star actor/technician with their choice of a ribbon at the end of rehearsal. Perhaps a true test of who actually has their lines memorized?!
      • Age Before Beauty
        • The age-old, tried and true method of Seniors (or directors) get to choose their ribbons first. This is their last festival, so it could be quite nice for our older Thespians to get their last ribbons to be the ones they want.
  • Now What?
    • Now you have your ribbons, but what if you’re not happy with the ones you have or don’t know where to put them? Here are a few suggestions.
      • Fashion Accessories
        • They're the perfect fashion accessory! Put them on notebooks, lanyards, previous festival passes, backpacks, shirts etc..
      • Trading
        • Trade them with each other! Say your friend has the “Diva” ribbon and you have the “I <3 Play Rehearsal” ribbon. If neither of you like your ribbon and would rather have each other’s, just swap! Problem solved.
      • Contest
        • At the end of festival, hold a vote for who has the best ribbon collection within your troupe, class, or whoever went to festival! This is a fun competition for the whole troupe to work towards!

Of course, you creative types will come up with many more ways to display your ribbons! What is most important is to have fun and enjoy festival!

See you November 7th,
Your 2020 Texas State Thespian Officers
